WHAT WE DO

The Narrative is a digital studio with an audience. We create original short and mid-form series with the next generation of filmmakers and freshest on-screen talent.

Every project we create is built on the foundation of our unrivalled understanding of online audiences and the platforms where they spend time. We build engaged & loyal communities around our programmes and turn to these communities to test and iterate ideas.

The Narrative operates from a London base with close ties to the UK creative community.  The company was founded to bridge the gap between a new pool of talent, honing their craft on online platforms and premium content providers.

OUR BESPOKE AGILE PRODUCTION PROCESS

We are obsessed with making shows that are faster, better, and cheaper than the rest of the industry. As film equipment, cameras, and professional software prices keep dropping, why are movies and TV shows getting more expensive to make? By taking a leaf out of the Agile Manifesto of Software Development, we have created a rapid prototyping method to creating broadcast quality programmes much more efficiently. It's why our groundbreaking BBC series Mission Selfie could be made for 2.5x cheaper than anyone else. Click here to read MIDiA research's post about our process.

DO YOU OWN A DOG?

Yes, his name is Huxley.

DO YOU ACCEPT UNSOLICITED SCRIPTS?

Unfortunately, we do not accept unsolicited scripts. We do have a formal script submission process which will be announced later this year.

CAN I SHOW YOU MY REEL OR PORTFOLIO?

Definitely. The worst thing is to create something and nobody sees it. Feel free to send your portfolio to lawrence [at] thenarrative.io. Somebody at The Narrative will watch it, just give us some time to feedback.

DO YOU OFFER AN INTERNSHIP?

We do! Every year, we work with universities and courses that require internships. In past years, we have engaged students from University of Brighton, University of Glasgow and Central St. Martins as well as other colleges. We do accept interns outside of a course and they would follow similar guidelines for the internship.
